The 2026-27 Premier League table is starting to take shape with Liverpool aiming to be closer to the top of the standings after an underwhelming campaign last term that saw the Anfield side finish a lowly fifth.

For Fulham, this season could be about survival. The Cottagers have lost all three of their opening fixtures with new manager Álvaro Arbeloa still integrating a contingent of talented but young and unproven summer signings.

Liverpool are firm favorites to claim three points having won eight of their last 11 meetings with Fulham at Anfield, scoring 22 goals in the process.

What to watch for

Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool are still a work in progress. The Anfield side still have many of the same vulnerabilities that hindered them last season, yet there have been signs that Iraola is beginning to get through to his players.

In wins over Atlético Madrid and Ipswich Town, Liverpool have demonstrated their quality in transition. The introduction of on-loan Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo at right-back has also given the Reds greater security at the back while Bradley Barcola is getting up to speed after joining from Paris Saint-Germain.

Having scored four goals in three league games, Fulham could pose an attacking threat at Anfield. The issue for Arbeloa, however, is that his team have also conceded seven goals, losing three out of three. If Fulham can’t strike the right balance, Saturday’s visit to Merseyside could be a difficult one.

Player to watch: Bradley Barcola, Liverpool – Iraola started Barcola on the right wing rather than his usual spot on the left against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, giving Liverpool a different look in the final third. The Frenchman came off with cramp before the end, but should be fit to feature against Fulham.
